Classical Karaoke for Kids with CD By Marjorie Kiel Persons Classical Karaoke for Kids, a new book/CD covering 37 additional classical music themes, was published in January 2003. It uses the same format as the Themes To Remember volumes. In addition to Piano and Forte, this volume also features Adagio, the cat, and Allegro, the mouse, in Haydn's Clock Symphony. (Of course, Adagio never catches Allegro because Allegro is always faster than Adagio!).

Music Theory & Harmony By Lawrence Sanchez Music is one of the most rewarding of human endeavors. Music Theory and Harmony presents a strong foundation in the understanding of musicżs most fundamental, yet essential principles, as well as it's most technical and complex mechanics. From music's basic elements, such as intervals, scales and their construction, to the study of modes with an emphasis on their application, and the many other intrinsic elements that make up music. The course established a sense of surety in my comprehension of music and gave me an understanding of the different functions and styles found in music of all kinds.

Themes To Remember - Volume 1 - REVISED EDITION It is a light-hearted, fully illustrated book that includes portrait sketches of the 24 composers and definitions of musical terms. Piano, a quiet little cat, and Forte, a rather noisy little dog, will accompany you through the pages of Themes To Remember. The book also includes "good listening" suggestions for each of the four classical music periods covered in the book. The CD contains 80 tracks, 40 tracks of the classical music themes without lyrics and 40 tracks of the same themes with lyrics written by the author. The nature of the lyrics, often humorous, results in an amazingly successful teaching method that was developed over many years by the author. "Themes To Remember, Volume 2" has an additional 40 themes and "Classical Karaoke" has 37 more themes. Therefore, the three books combined have a total of 117 themes. *See below for the following: Teacher's Guide for Volume 1 and Transparencies for Volume 1. Themes To Remember - Volume 2. Teacher's Guide for Volume 2 and Transparencies for Volume 2. Composer Portraits - set of 41

Themes To Remember - Volume 2 Themes To Remember, Volume 2, is an extension of Themes To Remember, Volume 1. i.e. it has the same author, illustrator, portrait artist, teaching style, internal arrangement, binding type, etc. as Volume 1. However, it features 40 classical music themes that are all different from those included in Volume 1 (plus 2 themes that are repeats). This volume has 23 composers including 10 composers and 8 composer portraits that are not in Volume 1. Volume 2 features all four of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" and also eight themes from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker". Like Volume 1, it also has a CD inside the back cover. In addition to the musical themes, both Volume 1 and Volume 2 of Themes To Remember are fully illustrated books with short biographies and portrait sketches of the composers and definitions of musical terms. The CD that comes with each book has two (consecutive) tracks per classical music theme. The first (odd numbered) track has the musical theme without lyrics followed by a track with vocalists singing the theme with the lyrics. These book/CD Volumes are currently being used in preschool and elementary schools as well as by parents with young children and even by adults who want to learn the ABCs of classical music. The most basic use of the books and CDs is to learn to sing the lyrics by listening to the CD recordings and following along in the book. Once the themes are recognizable, the basis is set for further development of classical music appreciation studies.

Unquiet (Music CD) This "family-spun folk record with attitude" is the debut CD from The Jones Family, a trio characterized by close harmony and a tasteful yet eclectic selection of material. The Joneses-father Chuck, mother Brenda and 17-year-old daughter Chenoa-recorded Unquiet at Bias Recording Co. in Springfield, Va., possibly the nation's top recording studio for music. Produced by Heidi Gerber and Lawrence Paulson, Unquiet is a perfect showcase for the Jones Family's polished approach to traditional and contemporary folk music. On the album, Chuck Jones plays the piano, acoustic guitar, Anglo concertina, pennywhistle and drum, and sings lead and backing vocals; Chenoa plays the acoustic guitar and sings lead and backing vocals; and Brenda contributes vocals. Several Washington, D.C. - area musicians make guest appearances on the CD.
A highlight of the album is "Tom Deadlight," a rousing
sea song with music by Ted Porter of the group Big Blow and the Bushwackers and
words from a poem by Herman Melville. The title song, the English ballad
"The Unquiet Grave," features a haunting lead vocal by Chenoa and bravura work
on the bodhran and bones by guest musician Myron Bretholz.
